CL Team Coaches
Kelly Johnson
Kelly has been a fish (swimmer) all her life. It all began with her parents throwing her into the pool when she was a mere eight months old. Off she went! At 12 she began her competitive open-water swimming career with the Junior Lifeguard Program. Next was a long and illustrious competitive pool career. Kelly was also born to be a coach. For many years she coached children (of all ages) to swim, and now she teaches fifth grade. As you can imagine, she is a very patient and persistent human being. Since joining the Coach Lesley Team, she has worked with almost all our athletes of all levels (swimmers and non-swimmers alike) to improve their stroke efficiency in the water. Whether someone is learning to swim or training for Ironman, Kelly's keen eye and in-depth knowledge of the swim stroke takes you to the next level. We are very excited to have her on the CL Team.
Jan Thompson
This mother of two and grandmother of one is not the average run-of-the-mill grandmother! Jan grew up in west Seattle and is a huge fan of the outdoors; if it is wet, cold, dry, deep or high you can be sure that Jan is in it, on it, or scaling it.
Jan competed in her first triathlon last year (Chelan Man Olympic) and learned to swim as an adult just a few years ago. Therefore when it comes to teaching swimming, biking or running technique to our clients, she knows first-hand how it feels to start at the beginning and work towards the finish line.
Before staring her triathlon career, Jan was a member of the highly trained King County Search and Rescue giving her oodles of experience in hiking, skiing and coping with the outdoor elements. She brings this specialized training with her to the position of Team Coach. We feel lucky to have her onboard!

Trisha 'Tad' Jacobs
We are absolutely delighted to welcome Trisha ‘Tad’ Jacobs to the Team Coaches crew. Some of you may know Tad for her exceptional running skills, group workout coordination skills and ability to motivate and inspire athletes; however there is much more that Tad will be bringing to the table in the capacity of a Team Coach.
Tad is a Registered Nurse with professional working knowledge of anatomy, physiology and nutrition and is also currently in the process of obtaining a USAT Level I Coaching Certificate. Tad is looking forward to working with CoachLesley athletes and making coaching a part of her everyday life.
Look for Tad in-week for track workouts, speed and tempo drills and running agility skills. We are fortunate to have Tad’s knowledge, skills and experience on our coaching team.
