Athlete Spotlight
ELENA
From the very beginning, she arrived with bells on. Literally.
We first met Elena back in December 2010 and from the get go, she was amazing. She came to us with a desire to lose weight, build strength and gain fitness – the hard work began. Her decision to join us right before Christmas (usually when most folks might be thinking of taking a few weeks off) was a testament to her commitment and will to succeed; therefore, just a couple days after meeting with Lesley she found herself in the rain, in downtown Seattle running in the annual Jingle Bell Run.
“From the moment I first met Lesley, I knew with her encouragement, knowledge and experience, I would be successful in all aspects of my training. She pushes me at just the right time when I need it most.” -- Elena A
“She is super fun and is a great athlete with an attitude that is spot-on. She is willing to learn and work hard.” --Coach Lesley
Since that wet, December day when she and a few thousand other people were jingling their way through the city, she has come incredibly far both in fitness and in experience. She has tackled events such as the Warrior Dash, the Danskin Sprint and the Vancouver Half-Marathon.
Most recently Elena joined the CoachLesley.com Orange Ogres for the Ragnar Relay –Northwest Passage in July 2011. Elena showed strength, stamina and a great spirit in this 24 hour relay race from Blaine down to Whidbey Island and her cheerful attitude was appreciated by all of her team mates.
“I truly feel like I’ve not only become a runner and more fit, but I’ve become a part of an amazing team.” --Elena A
“Elena continues to impress me; impress, not surprise - as I know she can do whatever she sets her mind to” --- Coach Lesley
So Elena – with the world as your oyster and you being a very capable pearl – what’s next???
